As the COVID-19 situation continues to develop in parts of WA as well as a number of significant bushfires around the state, we are supporting your clients, you and your business through this.
Our team members are still able to answer your calls and pay your invoices – there won’t be any disruption to our service.
What your business can do
- Keep up to date with the WA Government’s dedicated COVID-19 website.
- Follow the current directions from the Western Australian government, especially if your business operates in the Perth metropolitan area, Peel and the South West regions.
- If you, your workers or the people you support experience even mild symptoms, arrange a COVID-19 test immediately and self-isolate until you get the results.
- Ensure your business is following COVID Safe practices.
- Read the WA Government’s information for disability providers.
- Encourage any members of your workforce who haven’t already done so, to complete the Australian Government Department of Health’s ‘Infection prevention and control’ training module and watch the video on how to wear PPE correctly.
- Review and test your business continuity plan to ensure you can manage the risks to the services you deliver to people with disability.
There are a number of significant bushfires around WA, it’s important to check the location of all current bushfire alerts and warnings so you know if and when to take action.
It’s never too late to have a bushfire plan in place so you’re well prepared in advance.
What you can do for your clients
- Keep your clients informed about your services, especially if there are any changes.
- Let them know what you are doing to manage COVID-19 risks.
- If your business is not able to continue providing services, you must inform your clients and their plan managers and support coordinators. If you are a registered provider you must inform the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
Clients can request providers use a face mask
Clients have the right to request a provider use personal protective equipment (PPE), such as a face mask or gloves. The provider needs to pay for the cost of the PPE – it does not come out of the client’s NDIS plan.
