My Plan Manager welcomes government commitment to NDIS reforms

As one of Australia’s largest and most established National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) service providers, My Plan Manager welcomes the federal government’s commitment to improve the NDIS by making the changes recommended by the Tune Review.

While the NDIS has made a positive change to many lives, there are essential improvements which the government must action to ensure more Australians can access the right support they need for their unique challenges and individual goals, as originally intended in the legislation.

The NDIS is the foundation to ensuring Australians living with a disability have equal opportunity to achieve independence and social and economic participation in an inclusive, all-abilities society.

It will be important to ensure the changes do not disadvantage people on the scheme or reduce the choice and control they have over their own supports.

A scheme as complex as this will always need improvements throughout the early years, so we’re encouraged that the government has recognised this, and we are hopeful that the recommended changes will deliver better outcomes for people with a disability.
